This review is for the restaurant only. I have visited previously and enjoyed a lovely breakfast on my way through. However, this visit was for dinner and it was not so good an experience. An entree sized main of lamb arrived lukewarm and over done. When the waiter asked if everything was ok I mentioned the lamb was overcooked and even gristly. Nothing transpired as a result. I think $48 is a price that warrants a fine dish, and it just wasn't. The view is spectacular and the space is beautiful but on this occasion the food did not meet the required standard.

So much enjoyed our 3 night stay! Stunning backdrop of Mt Sturgeon highlighted really spacious and comfortable accommodation, nothing wanting and spotlessly clean. Took the garden tour with Robin, an eye opening education to what true sustainable living can and should be. Thoroughly enjoyed 2 dinners in Parker Street Project, drinks in the bar and NYE at Wickens - stunning dining experiences all-round. Cannot rate them high enough! Full marks to the team, all without hesitation personable, making feel most welcome. Thank you to all - we will be back!

The food is great but you're paying for quality. I want everyone to know this venue's cancellation policy. Our group size changed (6 diners to 8) which meant we had to change to the 2 or 3 course menu option. That didn't suit everyone in our group so we thought we might go elsewhere. That's when we were told that the credit card they had been given would be debited at $50 a head. We still went for lunch but we split up our group so we could order a la carte and not be charged $400 for changing our booking.

Shared the accomodation with two motor cycling mates, roomy comfortable and well equipped bathroom. Meal was outstanding, perfectly presented and delicious. Wine list was extensive and enjoy the experience ( one of my mates was a Barossa winemaker) In summary I would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Mail Hotel experience.

The BEST meal we have EVER had in the entire world. Not being dramatic. The BEST STAY we have ever had. Weve travelled around most places and this is hands down, in the number one spot. A+++

Food was very fast and good, Hand cut chips 10/10 I had the steak, it was cooked perfectly and they had heaps of non alcoholic drinks which is nice too see! I recommend everyone gets the soufflé yum yum 10/10 It’s is very pricey but that’s to be expected at a joint like this and it is amazing they grow all their own produce. Only reason I have given 4 is they had a big group coming in and we felt rushed to order .. and I felt there could have been a more wow for the price point . Rating suits 4.5 but no option for 4.5 But otherwise amazing place would recommend

We are a couple who stayed 2 nights in the bluestone cottages on the property in front of the majestic Mt Sturgeon. It was luxurious and very private. We ate at Parker restaurant on the Friday night and the nori garfish and hand cut chips were a standout. Saturday night we ate at Wickens and it is certainly a fine dining treat. The service was friendly and unpretentious. The whole experience is ideal for a very special occasion as it is expensive but memorable.

The Dunkeld restaurant in the hotel is first class, the service was both efficient and friendly. The menu was delicious and lots of variety. The wine list is fantastic, the wine tasting is worth the trip and the staff member hosting the tasting was very knowledgeable. Make time to visit and relax in the beautiful surroundings.
